Dear all, I have parked my car in the shopping mall and the car behind mine was a saloon car. When I came back from dinner, my wife saw a lorry parked behind our car (bumper to bumper) and decided to take a look and found the bumper paint chipped off (2 X fifty cents coin size). Reported to the mall's security (witness) and took down the other party particulars. On the surface, I agreed I did not witness the incident thus might not stand on the stand. But base on the pictures and according to the mall security officer, it appeared the lorry had caused the damage. Any chance to claim against the other party?

50/50. What do you wanna claim? the other party insurance or just ask him to pay for re-spray?

Tried to settle in private but the driver denied it was his fault... Was told by my insurance agent chances are slim....with 2 words ==> 'bad luck'

Did you take a picture on the spot? If this is a bumper to bumper parking I assume that the lots don't have the raised concrete blocks to prevent this sort of incidents.
In this case, if you took a picture and his bumper is over the lot threshold, it will raise your chances for a claim as it's obvious he's over and into your lot thus his percentage will be higher. maybe 70/30 or 80/20 which should not affect your NCD if you claim.

i would suggest, if the damage is not that bad, let it go.. Just consider "pou cai dang zai"
