My client sells and distributes a wide range of electronics and communication cables, industrial connects & Fieldbus I/O and industrial networking connectivity products and they are recognized as the market leader and therefore has the opportunity to expand further through sales and marketing strategies.
This position reports to the Industrial Sales Director, SEA/NA.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide complete sales and marketing services to all customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory in accordance with sound business principles and specific sales and marketing policies. Also, to secure sufficient sales volume to meet or exceed established sales budgets as specified in the profit plan, and accomplish other sales and marketing objectives.
PRINCIPAL CHALLENGE:
The incumbent will be responsible for demand creation in order to secure sufficient sales volume to meet or exceed established sales budgets as specified in our annual sales plan in the assigned sales territory. He will develop business within the industrial verticals (Industrial wire & cable, connectors and Fieldbus I/O) and will be promoting the complete set of the Company's product portfolio at the end use customer.
It is also his responsibility to effectively communicate the Company’s policies and programs to the customers and prospects and to communicate customers’ needs to the Company. He acts as the focal point for all information in his assigned territory. It is their role to report all competitive activity, new product trends and changes in the market place to the Industrial Sales Director, SEA/NA.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
•Maintains effective line of communication with the Industrial Sales Director, SEA/NA at all times and executes daily sales calls activities in accordance with account potential.
•Develop list of prospective customers by establishing account plans for key customers.
•Make calls on regular customers on a periodic basis, informing them of new products and product applications.
•Proactively grow install base through identifying and understanding customer’s need.
•Develop and maintain good relationship with distributors, OEMs, contract manufacturers and direct end customers.
•Participate actively during the design-in phase with the customer and to recommend the most appropriate products and solution.
•Conduct sales presentation, seminars, product training for customers and distributors and provides for product demand through sales development calls.
•Identify opportunities for cross selling of all the Company's connectivity products.
•Report on sales forecast and comments on business development.
•Analyze competitive trends and strategies and the impact of new products marketed by competitors.
•Reports conclusions to the Industrial Sales Director, SEA/NA.
•Conveys and explains company policies and procedures to all customers and prospects in a positive and constructive manner. Makes recommendations to management on ways to improve sales productivity and effectiveness.
•Develops an annual territory sales plan keyed to customers and driven by the sales and marketing plans that are to be accomplished.
•In conjunction with the Channel Manager, SEA/NA, provides assistance and guidance to all distributors to maintain sufficient inventory or product to provide proper balance and depth and turns of the inventory.
•Increases the sales volume at selected accounts with sales promotions and attendance at trade shows and local shows and by active follow through on referrals.
•Provides the basic data for management decision making by filing reports of daily call activity, weekly plan sheets, two week route sheets, expense reports and four month route sheets and continual reports on competitive proposals, pricing and policy and new products.
•In conjunction with the Industrial Sales Director, SEA/NA, organises and executes effective design and engineering calls and problem solving calls using appropriate company personnel, schedules effective visits to key accounts by company management personnel and makes recommendations to Marketing on new product requirements.
•Recommends market and product changes and revisions based on potential available in the territory and developing trends.
•Operates within all prescribed policies, procedures and expense budgets while maintaining a strong image of professionalism in all activities.
Requirements
•Min bachelor degree with at least 3 – 4 years of experience in industrial sales of industrial connectors and Fieldbus I/O, wires, cables and systems.
•Sound technical knowledge in the field of Industrial automation and take ownership of task assigned and is able to work with minimum supervision.
•Highly motivated self-starters with a proven record in area/vertical sales and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•When required must be willing to travel on short notice.
•Have a formal Company Sales Training Program on product, technical knowledge and field training to provide a thorough knowledge of all supporting departments and resources available to the customers.
