My client, a leading insurance company is looking for motor underwriter to join them.
Job Summary
•To provide timely and high quality customer service to underwriters and agents by: enter policy/endorsement information including premium transactions into Underwriting systems, adhering to policy. Prints all documentation and verifies completeness of required supporting documents. Prepars policies and endorsements for delivery to policyholder, prints, sorts and assembles necessary paperwork. Ensures copies of all appropriate records are filed according to policy guidelines.
Responsibilities
•Assess applications and quote motor vehicles for prospective customers according to the underwriting guidelines provided.
•Ensure proper supporting documents accompany an application.
•Refer vehicles above your authority to the motor supervisor for consideration when required.
•Authorize the acceptance of motor vehicles up to the authority level provided to you by the Underwriting Manager.
•Enter the motor vehicle data into the system according to guidelines provided.
•Approve and print customer policies on the system.
•Answer customer and branch telephone enquires.
•Assist underwriting supervisor with document collation and filing.
Requirements
•Min Bachelor's degree and/or professional qualification preferred or actively pursuing professional insurance designation.
•3 years of more of motor underwriting experience.
•Familiar with local market mechanisms, practices and also key intermediaries.
•Strong relationship building focus with a marketing perspective and sold technical knowledge and underwriting skills within the Motor field.
•Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and/or internal business partners within scope of responsibilities.
•Knowledge of the motor and general insurance intermediary market.
•Strong verbal and written communications and organizational skills.
•Strong negotiation , analytical and decision making skills.
