Hi bros, my friend intro me exhaust wrap(especially for Sunny N16 as our engine bay is super hot) but pretty hard to find in SG or else the shops here chop carrot for car owners..So organising a group buy from overseas seller if any bros here are interested.. www.heatshieldproducts.com/exhaust_wrap.php"Exhaust wraps help to retain heat in your exhaust system, which increases horsepower while reducing radiant heat damage. By wrapping the header and exhaust system it maintains hotter exhaust gases, decreases the density, and allows the exhaust gas to exit the system faster! Greater exhaust scavenging is produced and lowers intake temperatures: that equals more horsepower." Apparently what my friend told me is that this heat control will negate or lessen the need for CAI coz engine bay temp will go down by ard 50%. Also means longer lifespan and performance for engine bay electronics heavy cars like mine, and of coz the most important parts of the car, the battery and alternators. Couple that with a good heat shielding for your battery and air intake and the car performance will also improve. Not to mention the exhaust scavenging benefits. Sourced around and it seems like it costs around $70-90 per 2" by 50' roll online with delivery for a group buy of around 6-10 rolls. Ah boy there i heard selling around $130 for the same roll. So if you're interested, add your name to the list below. Exact price may be revised depending on what deals can be worked out. Looking for around 6-10 bros Exhaust Header Wrap buy List 1) Moredhel 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) 10)

bro zhun bo? Exhaust wraps almost good enough to replace CAI? so which part do we actually warp? estimated damage done? if really true then don't have to do CAI liao hehe ^^ worry about the noise it produced... sms or call me to discuss about it loh... try poison me to join you bah =p

And if it does reduce the engine bay heat by 50% or even by 30%, I think it's good enough for me coz i'm worried about the heat buildup in the lousy design sunny e bay and effects on electronics. Anyway, heard from some guy who races regularly at sepang that he also used that for his non-racing car in sg, his race car using ceramic coating but wrap is alot cheaper, that even if nothing else works, the least is that your battery life will increase because of the lower range of radiant temp exposed to and the intake air cooler esp during longer journeys. Anyway, cai is still good coz it's the actual cool air from outside the vehicle. If you don't change to open pod or high air permeable filter setup think the intake sound is still pretty ok, just slightly louder than normal only. Ask bro ronin, he's been considering the exhaust wrap for some time already. ^^

hmm... so still must do CAI... anyway this wrap thingy sounds interesting. if damage not too hard can consider trying ^^

sorry bros, i dun think wrapping the header works leh... changing the extractor may be a better alternative.. OOT! Sorry!

haha Mas, if talking about power increase, of coz change extractor will be a better option. Then can become like your bullet chingay.
I'm more interested in bringing down the engine bay heat and/or heat extraction from the bay to improve electronics life and performance.
Exploring the idea of creating a cooler engine bay, esp for long journeys and of course, controlled ambient bay heat means lower temperature air intake all around.
Anyway, how much your friend charge to do the CAI?
